Our Identity: My Vision - Paul Haines

At Haines Management Solutions Ltd, our identity / my own passion is deeply rooted in a commitment to excellence in logistics, customer service, business administration and project management, well, pretty much everything we / I put my name to really!

My background has always been strong in organisation, process and structure, I really don’t know why this is. I love information and learning and have always wanted to make sure that everything that I put my name to was done correctly. My Grandfather ran a successful Dance Band in the 60s, 70s & 80, ‘The Johnny Haines Dance Band’ was famous around Suffolk & Norfolk and all because they were great at what they did. Latterly, he ran his own TV and Satellite installation business which was also a great success. My father ran a successful building contractors for over 30 years, was always busy but didn’t advertise once. You’re probably asking what is the correlation with Haines Management Solutions and my father’s and grandfather’s businesses? Well, its my name, its putting my name to something and being accountable for whatever it is that I’m doing.

Over the past years I have worked with and learned from some fantastic people. I started my logistics career at Mendlesham working for Harley Barnard’s ‘Taylor Barnard’ which at the time was one of the most successful family owned warehousing companies in the UK. After acquisition, I spent time implementing Warehouse Management Systems for TNT Logistics before joining another SME to Project Manage and build their new head-office and 150,000 sq ft warehousing facility in Biggleswade, Taygroup were another hugely successful business which was eventually sold to Bibby Distribution in 2010. After nearly 10 years with Taygroup / Bibby I did some contract work for a year or so before starting Haines Management Solutions Ltd. After a few years of consultancy, I met the owners of Century Logistics ltd and after being asked to assist them in a role to help stabilise their operations after a stage of huge growth I was convinced by the owners to join them permanently. Being part of the Senior Team / Board of Directors for Century Logistics was probably the proudest time of my career. We ran a fantastically dynamic business, could make instant decisions and all shared a passion for what we were doing.

I had lots of success with industry awards during my time at Century mentoring the UKWA Junior Manager of the Year winner, The Bury Free Press Employee of the year award, being part of the Development Team that won the UKWA Training Company of the Year award plus a number of other finalists for different UKWA awards. My own ‘Solutions’ department was also a finalist in the UKWA awards for Excellence in Value Added Services in 2023 which again was a real proud moment.

So to now, after nearly 10 years with Century Logistics / Metro Supply Chain I’ve decided that Haines Management Solutions will be back out on the road again. If you have a business and you need some additional management support, please drop me a line and we can have a chat about your requirements. I’m not in this to just take on work for the sake of it, if I can’t help you or add value then I’ll tell you that. I will however, likely be able to recommend someone that can help.

Thanks for taking the time to visit the website and please do get in touch.
